Flippers!!!
For my class, we had to make posts that encounter food. Since the first time I saw this place, I had always wanted to go to this restaurant in Kichijyoji, "Flippers". About a 5-minute walk from Kichijyoji station is this Flippers. They mainly sell pancakes and breakfast-like dishes.
This is the Smoked Bacon & Eggs and Classic Pancakes dish the pancakes were of course delicious but also the harmony of the pancakes, bacon, eggs, and syrup was fabulous!!! I recommend everyone to take it a try!
Coincidentally, the dishes at Flippers look similar to ones pictured and described on Nodoka's blog (from the restaurant she went to called THE 88 TSUKUBA PANCAKE). But, the restaurant that Nodoka went to had a Hawaiian theme and the pancakes looked a bit fluffier.
ReplyDelete"Flippers" is a cleaver name for a pancake restaurant, but I get the image of a happy dolphin when I hear that world because there was a TV program featuring a smart (but naughty) dolphin named "Flipper" when I was a child. Interestingly, the dolphin trainer in that program (Ric O’Barry) went on to protest against the capturing of dolphins to be used in aquariums. He also was one of the main characters featured in a film about the Taiji dolphin hunt in Taiji, Wakayama...a film that won an Academy Award. It was called "The Cove," and I highly recommend it.
